Apple has been building toward Declarative Device Management for a few years, but at WWDC 2025 earlier this summer, it became clear that the transition is over. DDM is not a future concept or an option for Apple fleets. It is now how Apple expects organizations to manage updates, apps, and policies across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro.
