Five Ways To Improve Battery Life On iOS Devices
The iPhone 4S has a beautiful display and many other awesome features including GPS. The only downside of having these features active is they reduce battery life dramatically. There are many things a user may do to increase and decrease the battery life of their device.
First, try turning down screen brightness and adjust screen brightness to your own individual preference. Be aware the lower you can adjust screen brightness the more battery life you can preserve. The higher screen brightness, the more battery power needed to run it.
Secondly, turning off bluetooth and location services settings, when not needed or in use. To turn off Bluetooth settings tap settings>general>Bluetooth toggle 0n/off here.
The third option for saving battery life is turn off automatic time settings. In order to turn off the automatic time feature tap settings>general>date & time toggle on/off here. It uses battery life checking the date & time periodically. If you live in a region of the US where time goes up in Spring and back in Fall, you may elect to leave this feature turned on. If you are having trouble with battery, I recommend turning this feature off as well.
You also need to eliminate or reduce to a bare minimum the number of vibrations and LED flash alerts you have activated. These settings can be adjusted by tapping settings>general>accessibility toggle LED alerts here
One last thing you can do to save battery life is turn on/off wi-fi when not needed. This will keep the device from searching for wifi networks to join. If this service isn’t needed you might turn it off also.
All of these options can be used to preserve battery power. However, I recommend turning all or several off at once to check battery life. You may turn one on at a certain time and monitor battery life to see which features are taking the most battery power throughout the day.
