You are here: Home / How To Enable iTunes Match

How To Enable iTunes Match

1. Go to settings on your iOS 5 device and turn on iTunes Match

2. When you go to the music section, you will find the iTunes Match toggle at the top of the screen. You need to swipe it and this will lead for a pop up screen to come up and ask you for you Apple ID and password to enable this process.

Once you have carried out the steps above, you have now two options:

1. You can now turn on “Show All Music” option, and this will mean that all of the music tracks that are on the iCloud will be see able to you and you will be able to download any of them in your Music app. This can be done by tapping the cloud icon next to each track.

2. You can leave the “Show All Music” turned off. This will result in that only local music tracks will be shown in you Music app.

If it is your first time to use the iTunes Match, you are recommended to leave the “Show All Music” turned on at first. As when it is off it will show the music that you have downloaded only, so after you have downloaded the tracks that you want you can then turn the setting off. You would want to turn it off as there is no point of having a massive list of tracks which of a lot of them you wont be able to play anyway because they are not downloaded.

When you download more tracks, your list will be automatically refreshed and will be reflected on your other iDevices. iTunes Match costs $24.99 per year and can be bought now from the iTunes Store.
