How To Save Blobs Using TSS Checker

There’s a useful tool you can use to save SHSH2 blobs of a particular iOS firmware you’re using in the event that Apple stops signing the firmware. Thanks to tihmstar, the TSSChecker tool allows you to downgrade to a previous firmware at a later date. The release of the tool follows after a recent issue wherein iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users experienced invalid SHSH2 blobs on their devices. After discovering the issue, tihmstar updated the tool to specifically save the right SHSH2 blobs for both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

To date, the only SHSH2 blobs you can generate is for iOS 10.2. In order to be valid, you’d need to have the iOS 10.1.x SHSH2 blobs saved on the old TSSChecker version. Otherwise, it won’t work. Since tihmstar was able to quickly work on the issue and quickly released an update, it’s a good sign that more updates will be made for the tool. It could potentially receive regular updates to help fix new issues and even support new iOS devices and firmwares.

It’s highly recommended that you save the SHSH2 blob for iOS 10.2, especially if you have an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or even an older model. If you don’t want to go through the process of saving the blobs under command line tool, you may do so from the TSSSaver website.

Currently, the beta version of Yalu jailbreak supports iOS versions 10.1-10.1.1. Since the jailbreak unstable, it could potentially create problems on your device. A more stable version of the jailbreak is expected to be released by Luca Todesco in the future. If you prefer, you can wait for this jailbreak’s release. This could potentially help you out whenever you need to download back to the previous iOS version you were using.
