Are you a fan of Mac Growl Notidications? If so the new tweak called Notipad will just fit you. The new cydia tweak is available in the BigBoss Repo for $1. It adds on screen notifications with a couple different animations and the ability to change which side they appear. What little yime I have used the tweak it seems to work just gine.
