Most people are still under the impression that Cell Providers can still make phones unusable on non-paid accounts. That’s no longer true. I’m happy to share great news with you guys. It’s now possible to transfer your iPhone 6 to StraightTalk Services even if your previous accounts are not current.
Obama signed a new bill that lets users take their phone with them when they change providers. This could be the single only thing Obama has done since he has been in office which was worthwhile. But thats a different post.
I recently transferred my iPhone 6 to StraightTalk provider from Verizon. No matter what I tried my bill was never the amount I was told it would be. Therefore, I got tired of paying double for my iPhone every month. The only disadvantage to using StraightTalk providers is the fact you must own your own phone. If you purchase the iPhone 6 on StraightTalk services it will cost around $700.
However, I used the iPhone 6 which I purchased from Verizon several months ago. One thing you need to keep in mind when transferring your Verizon iPhone is when you enter the serial number in the compatibility page of StraightTalks website chances are you will get, “This device is already a TracPhone device.” or something similar. You will have to call customer service at StraightTalk rather than transfer your account through their website.
The great thing about using StraightTalk Service is in most locations their services run on Verizon towers. So if you had Verizon service beforehand you will have the same services after transferring your provider. Try this and I’m certain you will be glad you did. If your account agreement time has ran out its no issue. If not, and you want to keep from getting past due bills posted on your credit you can pay to leave the agreement. It’s usually very expensive but if you don’t want to tarnish your credit and I recommend you do not use this method. Depending on how much time is left on your two year agreement will determine how much you have to pay to get out of the contract.
