AP Calculus ”Power Review” is an awesome way for high school students or anyone to review or learn calculus. I know from teaching math twenty years that review is the most important part of learning. Today smartphones are in about every kids hand. This makes learning calculus fun and entertaining to the student. By using the iphone application students don’t have to carry books or other studying materials. They fan review the topic while taking the bus home in the afternoons.
AP Calculus application offers great flash card style learning. You can share with your friends or study together. Students are often worried they will be seen as a nerd if they carry books. This eliminates all those feelings and allows the student to receive the review skills needed to pass the AP final exam. They don’t just handout those AP college credits. They require in-depth understanding and learning from every student which takes the class.
Personally, I think AP Calculus Power Review does a great job helping the students review. They have the iphone or ipod in their hands throughout the day at all times. What better way to spend their time commuting home on the bus each afternoon. Seeing as there are many free apps which offer the same material, I think the app is a bit over priced. This app didn’t require any great graphics designers or coders to develop. So I see no reason to jack the rates to make a buck or two. The developer should lower the price and created many other subjects for students. This is literally a gold mine waiting to be snatched.
If you think a moment, what parent wouldn’t spend a buck to improve their child’s grades. Maybe by taking this approach they can sell more apps. I think this is a great way for students to learn. The better the students grades, the more improved their self esteem will become which helps them socially. It’s like a snowball when you are dealing with students and their grades.
