On Monday, March 9, 2015, Apple held a media event called Apple Spring Forward Event. With this event, they presented the Apple Watch, along with some vital information about the device. Not to mention, they released the information on pricing and availability dates for the device.
Now that the Apple Watch is finally going to hit retail stores in a month’s time, Apple has launched its latest iOS update; which will be ready for the Apple Watch. With the release of iOS 8.2, individuals who are planning to purchase the Apple Watch upon its release will be able to use their device with their current iPhone model right away. Apart from compatibility, iOS 8.2 serves as an update for Health app.
iOS 8.2 update is compatible with devices such as the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad 2, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2.
Along with releasing information on the upcoming Apple Watch, the presenters at the event demonstrated some of the exciting apps that are compatible with the Apple Watch and iOS 8.2. Here are a few of these apps:
Uber
For anyone who’s fond of requesting a car from Uber, they can do so directly from their Apple Watch. Doing this will no longer require you to pull out your iPhone from your pocket or bag. And as soon as your assigned vehicle gets close to your pickup location, a notification will be sent to your Apple Watch so you can easily spot your driver.
As always, Instagram is one of the fastest app developers to update their app once an iOS update is announced. Along with iOS 8.2, Instagram wants to make sure each user enjoys using the app straight on his Apple Watch. With its algorithm, users can easily scroll through photos and tap on photos straight from the device on his wrist.
Twitter has prepared their app to be fully functional with Apple Watch. Using this on the device will easily update you on what’s trending. Additionally, you can easily glance at different mentions and other activities that need your attention without having to pull out your phone.
There are plenty of other apps that are getting ready for Apple Watch. Which one are you most excited to use on the device?
