Don’t Despair! There’s Still a Way Recover Deleted Files

deleted files

When you accidentally delete a file, the normal reaction would be to panic.  You try frantically to look for the file and if there’s a way you can recover it.  But when you see that it’s no longer in your Recycle Bin, you might feel despair.  You’ll feel like all hope is lost and that there’s no way for you to recover the file.  You sit there as you try to hold back tears from thinking about the number of hours you spent working on the contents of the file that could possibly be gone forever.  And in some cases, this could mean life and death.

If you accidentally deleted a file from your computer, it’s perfectly fine to panic.  But once you’ve recovered from your initial frantic state, you have to think logically.  Yes, there’s a way to recover deleted files on your Windows computer.  All you have to do is follow these steps for on how to recover deleted files:

Check the Recycle Bin

Before you go crazy thinking that all your hard work is gone forever, take a few minutes to check your computer’s Recycle Bin.  The Recycle Bin was created to serve as a temporary folder where your deleted files can be stored as a safety measure.  So once you find your file here, all you have to do is right-click on it and choose Restore.

Check your Backup

If you regularly back up your hard drive, your deleted file may probably still be there.  Depending on the backup program you use, you will have to check how to search for the file you have lost.  Backing up your files is a good practice when you’re working on a computer.  You may not have done so in the past but after losing an important file, you’ll definitely want to keep doing this regularly.  If you haven’t backed up your files before, it won’t help you recover the file you lost.  Just remember to back up the next time.

Use a Recovery Software

The good thing about having a Windows computer is that Windows usually doesn’t overwrite on actual ones and zeros.  It only does so when another file needs to use the drive space.  So even if your file isn’t in the Recycle Bin, there may still be a way to recover it.  There are plenty of good data recovery programs available.  You can easily pick out one that has obtained good reviews from those who have used the program in the past.

If all else fails, the best thing to do is to hire a professional.  This will cost you some money though.  But if you really need to recover the file that you lost and you’ve tried all the options to no avail, you can still head to a professional for help.  Just remember, all isn’t lost. There’s always a way to recover your lost files.
