Many die hard gamers who love playing the old school, retro style GBA games and such have dreaded this day since the beginning. How unfortunate it has been but we all new sooner or later Apple would close this exploit which was a security threat. Now that iOS 8.1 has come those who are holding off because you want to play the emulator rom games. We have a small bit of hope. Although, updating at this time would prevent users from enjoying these type games it isn’t the end totally. The developer, Rileytestut has stated on his blog although he has tried to stay away from the jailbroken scene simply because he wanted this to work on non-jailbroken devices, the time has come for GBA4iOS to enter Cydia as a download for jailbroken devices. Unfortunately, at this time there isn’t a jailbreak for iOS 8 or 8.1 we hope it won’t be long. This at least give GBA rom gamers and NES hope.
But if you can’t live emulators until the jailbreak drops, there is another method. Join the developer account with Apple and install GBA4iOS through the developer account. Below are the instructions anyone wanting to install GAB4iOS will need to their own device.
GBA4iOS can be opened in Xcode and deployed to an iOS device just like an other app, but there are a few steps that need to be completed first:
