Wouldn’t it be convenient to be able to see your iPhone 4/4S photos on your Mac? Through much frustration, research with trial and error, I have blundered across a way to accomplish this task. The first thing to do is make sure you have iCloud configured on all your iOS devices and the Mac you wish to use, multiple Macs will work the same way. Make certain to use the same iCloud account for all devices.
Follow these steps to get your photos onto your Mac using iCloud and iPhoto or Aperture.
Steps to getting iCloud Photos on Mac
- Configure icloud on all devices including Mac.
- Make sure to use the same iCloud account on all devices and Mac’s.
- Under settings menu make sure photo stream is on under iCloud.
- Open iPhoto on Mac go to preferences select photo stream>enable photo stream> Automatic Upload (you can enable automatic import but this will add every photo taken directly to iCloud which can take up great amount of space. Of which you only get 5GB free from Apple. So this setting is your choice depending on your personal need.)
- Inside iPhoto select accounts and make sure you have saigned into the same iCloud account as you did with the iOS devices(iPad,iPhone, iPod).
- Now all your photo’s taken or saved to iCloud will be available in iPhoto under Photo Stream under Recent.
