The much awaited Google Maps app finally made its way into the App Store last week and back onto iOS devices ever since Apple had removed Google Maps from iOS 6 and replaced it with their own built in Map . Within the first few hours , it secured its place on the App Store and this shows how eager people were to have Google Maps on their devices .
Furthermore Google’s senior vice president of geo and commerce, Jeff Huber, announced on Google+ that their Maps App has been downloaded over 10 million times within the first 48 hours . Here’s the official statement made by Jeff Huber :
“More than 10 million downloads in less than 48 hours after release!
We’re excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world. Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it, for this release and over the last 7+ years.”
