How to Avoid Damage While Flying A Drone?

In this article, we are going to give some flying tips to the pilots to avoid any damage to the drone. Many people are interested in buying a drone and the sales are increasing every year. People pay a lot of money to buy their drone and they do not want it to get crashed. We recommend buying a cheap drone for learning purposes. Most of the people want to buy a drone for taking pictures and shooting videos. Others want them for their children or for some fun. No matter, what is the reason for buying a drone, No one wants to see its product get damage. You can check Top 10 Micro Quadcopters Today for finding the best micro quadcopter for flying indoor.

Main Causes of Drone Crash!

There can be many reasons for drone crash but some of the common reasons are as follows:

Low Battery

One of the main reasons for the quadcopter crash is the low battery. You have to note the time when you fly your drone and need to have a guess of your drone flight time. Anyhow, modern drones have an alarm system on the remote which informs you when the battery is below 30%. 30% battery is enough to fly back your drone to home. Just press the home button on the remote control and your drone will land on the take-off position. If you do not press the home button then the drone will automatically come back when the battery is below 10%.

Damaged Propellers

Propellers of the quadcopter help it to fly in the air. They are made of soft and light material and can easily be damaged. Moreover, they can injure other people when crash. To avoid this, you need to check the propellers carefully before flying your drone. If there is any damage or bend in the propellers, then we recommend you to replace them with a new pair. You can easily buy extra propellers from the market.

Home-Button Feature

Most of the modern drones have a home-button feature. This feature helps the drone come back home but most of the cheap drones do not have obstacle feature. Obstacle feature saves your drone from hitting any obstacle in the way. To better explain this, suppose you press the home button and the drone starts coming back. But there are obstacles in the way, the drone will not dodge the obstacles and hit them and crash on the ground. Most of the drones make a bee-line path to the take-off position. So, if your drone does not have an obstacle avoidance system then use this feature with caution.

Compass Error

Another possible reason that can cause damage to your drone is the failure of the compass. It can be caused by the interference by other radio frequency and electromagnetic waves. The compass can also fail if you do not store your drone taking proper precautions. Always, keep your drone in its case before moving it. Moreover, your car’s sound system can also cause problems for the compass. The best way to keep the compass safe is to avoid flying near high-voltage cables and cell-phone towers. In most of the cases, the damage caused by the radio frequencies is irreparable.

GPS Failure

Most of the hobby and pro drones have a GPS system that can crash your drone if it fails. People who want to fly a drone indoors should be very careful. You should keep the quadcopter in your sight all the times to avoid an accident. Anyway, it is best to fly a drone in an open place away from the large buildings.

Failure in Video Transmission Cables

Loose video cables or port can become a reason for your drone crash. It often happens because people do not check their drone properly before flying. Always, check the propellers and video transmission cables before taking off. Moreover, you need to check the antenna is working and there is not any problem with it.

Incorrect Home Position

There is a chance of an incorrect home position, in case the drone loses the GPS signals. Most of the quadcopters save the take-off position as the home position. If the GPS is not working properly, the drone can land somewhere else.
