For optimal results, jailbreak your device. A non jailbroken device can also do this but will not run. You can jailbreak the latest iOS 8.1.1 & 8.1 HERE.
The emulator known as nds4ios has come a long way. As demoed in the video above, Mario Kart runs at full speed on my iOS 8.1.1 iPhone 6 Plus. This guide will show you how to install a full speed nintendo ds emulator and get games on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
NON Jailbroken Method.
1. Navigate to http://www.pgyer.com/yzVR from your iOS device.
2. Simply hit the purple install button and click install on the prompt to download nds4ios nintendo ds emulator.
Jailbreak Method.
NOTE: This is a hit and miss on iOS 8.1 and 8.1.1, works perfectly on any firmware below iOS 8.1.
1. Open Cydia and add the following source; “http://repo.hackyouriphone.org/“.
2. Search for ‘nds4ios’ and download the package.
3. Reboot your device.
You can always manually SSH them in if you can’t get roms to work from your device. It’s really not that difficult, read this tutorial on how to install nintendo ds emulator roms with ssh. The tutorial shows the process with PSP iSO files but same principle.
It’s a bit strange on iOS 8.1.1, sometimes you’ll click download and nothing will happen. Don’t worry, just wait on the page and in about 30 seconds you’ll get a prompt to open the rom in nds4ios.
