
Battery life has been an issue for a long time when speaking of smartphones. One of the best ways to conserve battery life on your iPhone 5S or any other iOS device is common sense. It should be obvious if you play games or surf the internet all day your battery life will be depleted much faster.
Since iOS 7 released many users have complained its battery life isn’t as good as previous iOS versions. That may or may not be true. However, iOS 7 does have many added features other firmwares don’t have which could relate to low battery life.
We have gone through the entire list inside settings to determine what can be done to improve battery life besides NOT USING THE IDEVICE.
iOS 7 brings an added feature to the device which allows it to refresh apps in the background when on Wi-Fi or cellular. To preserve battery power here simply disable background app refresh completely. Be aware this will turn off location services so users will not be able to use Navigation.

Turn off AirDrop when not using it.

Turn off automatic downloads. However much users enjoy this feature it will use more battery power.

Brightness is the most obvious way to save power. Reduce the brightness as low as possible.

Push Notifications. One great way to use this with minimal battery power loss is to turn it on for per app basis.

Disable Push for Email or at least set it to hourly. Try this and see how it effects your battery.

Location Services

Reduce Motion- This is an iOS 7 feature only. It brings a parallax effect on icons and alerts but its constantly tracking motion to provide the feature effect.

Keep from using Dynamic Wallpapers

Disable Siri Raise to Speak. This will prevent the iPhone from constantly checking the proximity sensor.

Turn Off Spotlight to prevent indexing files

Don’t use vibrations for phone calls, text, or anything else.
Turn off LTE under Cellular Data

Auto-Lock

Limit Ad Tracking
