Ahead of the iOS 8 announcement, a latest report from Chitika’s analytics arm Chitika Insights suggests that approximately 89.7 percent of iPhone Web traffic in North America comes from users running devices with iOS 7, a 5.3 percent increase over the past quarter ending in May.
As for iPads, the estimated number is 84.8 percent, a 6.3 percent increase, showing an extensive growth over the past three months.
Compared to the statistics released in February this year, about 83.3 percent of iPhone Web traffic came from iOS 7 users while for iPads, it is approximately 78.5 percent.
The company indicates that up to last year’s WWDC event, iOS 6 dominated 92.7 percent of iPhones while 82.9 percent of iPads had iOS 6 installed.
The report examined millions of US and Canadian online ad impressions from Apple’s iPhones and iPads within the period May 22 to May 28.
