Many are looking forward to the release of the latest iOS 8 system, which promises to add to the functionality of iPad devices. Thanks to a new split-screen multi-tasking feature, iPad users can now run two applications on their device simultaneously. Definitely, this is something new that many are looking forward to.
By making this multi-tasking feature available on iPad users, Apple is able to boost the functionality of each device. Apart from a split-screen function, users can easily interact with each app they have accessed. This makes it a lot easier to drag content (such as text, images, or video) from one app to the next.
This is just about the right time for Apple to extend the functionality of their iOS system as its biggest competitor, Samsung Galaxy, has already enabled the use of Windows 8 and Multi Window view on their gadgets. To date, Apple is reportedly working on the design feature to function in landscape mode on the iPad’s 9.7-inch screen. At this stage, there has been no update on whether or not this function will also be available on the iPad Mini.
Apart from the multi-function feature, there have been leaked images of a ‘Healthbook’ app and mobile-friendly versions of a couple OS X apps– TextEdit and Preview. There are also other rumors that claim the new iOS 8 system will include a transit-heavy maps overhaul and a new Shazam integration. But until Apple releases an official statement, it’s best to keep speculations at bay.
