
iPad Split Screen Design w/iOS 8
Some believe iOS 8 will deliver a much anticipated feature for the iPad, a new split screen multitasking ability. This will allow users to interact with two applications simultaneously. Up until now the iPad could only open one application at a time.
Many believe by adding the split screen multitasking feature this will help the iPad replace the laptop. In addition, users will be able to drag content from one side or application to the other. This will drastically improve the way users interact with the ipad and use them on a daily basis.

The ability to use multiple applications simultaneously on a tablet’s display takes a page out of Microsoft’s playbook. Microsoft’s Surface line of tablets has a popular “snap” multitasking feature that allows customers to snap multiple apps onto the screen for simultaneous usage. The feature is popular in the enterprise and in environments where users need to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

The feature is thought to work exclusively in landscape mode which allows for increased screen space. The new 9.7 inch size iPad which is thought to release later this year or in 2015. iOS 8 is said to bring a slew of other features with the new firmware.
