The iPad is a popular product. Though, at the same time, it’s not a product many people buy every year. In fact, in recent months, the iPad is a declining product. With that being said, Apple is planning to hold it’s next iPad event on October 16, Re/code’s John Paczkowski reports. According to Paczkowski the event will be held at the company’s Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino. This event will be focused on the next generation iPads, iMacs, and they’re new desktop operating system, OS X Yosemite.
The report notes that the event will be more subtle. Unlike the companies iPhone 6/Apple Watch/Apple Pay event. The company will also be talking about its new mobile payment system, Apple Pay.
Though, Thursday is an odd date for Apple. The company typically holds keynotes on Mondays or Tuesdays. Paczkowski has a nearly flawless record though, so we’d give this report some serious thought.
We should expect a new iPad with Touch ID, an updated A8 processor with M8 coprocessor and possibly a golden iPad. As of late, we’ve seen code in Apple’s latest iOS beta, iOS 8.1, we’ve seen possible Apple Pay code for iPad. So we may see NFC built into the iPad, but we highly doubt it. Speaking about iOS 8.1, we may see iOS 8.1 debut. The new iMacs may possibly getting a long awaited Retina display.
