iphone 6

The latest generation of the iPhone line saw the release of two models, the base model iPhone 6 and the premium edition iPhone 6+. Although both devices share many upgrades from the iPhone 5 including faster internal processors and expanded 4G LTE coverage for faster, more reliable connections, the iPhone 6+ adds several exclusive features that could make it a better choice for some users.

iPhone 6

The iPhone 6 includes the latest edition of Apple’s proprietary operating system, iOS 8. iOS 8 provides critical upgrades to the Siri digital assistant app as well as introducing access to Apple Pay, a mobile payments system that integrates users’ financial information with the device.

The iPhone 6 also has an upgraded camera with improved low light performance and facial detection as well as a larger 4.7 inch display, making it a great choice for veteran iOS users looking for the latest experience. Both the iPhone 6 and 6+ require dedicated data plans for full feature access, and you can read more about the iPhone 6 plans at iiNet.

iPhone 6+

Where the iPhone 6 was developed with longtime iPhone users in mind, presenting the latest innovations in iOS with a familiar form factor, the iPhone 6+ is aimed at competing with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with its larger profile. The 5.5 inch screen of the iPhone 6 is rated for 401 pixels per square inch, making it ideal for frequent media watchers or users who prefer a tablet-style experience.

The iPhone 6+ adds even more polish to the upgraded features of the iPhone 6 platform, including gyroscopic stabilization for improved motion shots and a full day of talk time compared to the 14 hour rating of the standard iPhone 6 thanks to a higher capacity battery. Along with the high definition display that is the dominant feature of this version of the device, these premium options are ideal for heavy mobile users as well as those who use their smartphone as their main camera.

The slight drawback to this beefed-up version of the iPhone is the size of the device, which can make it difficult to handle and store for some users, and its added features also mean added weight.

The current generation of iPhones are built to appeal to a wider range of consumers by offering two distinct visions of the latest device. While the iPhone 6 is designed as a faithful update to the iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 is intended as a fully featured hybrid phone-tablet device and an entirely new direction for the line.
