There’s no denying that the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are popular. Apple’s original plan was to ship and manufacturer more iPhone 6 units than iPhone 6 Plus units. That’s because the company believed that the iPhone 6 would be its flagship device. In fact, many users — including myself — are still waiting for their pre-orders from either Apple or their carrier for the iPhone 6 Plus.
Digitimes reports that 60% of all iPhone 6 shipments are iPhone 6 Plus. Rumors are going around saying Foxconn is taking the bulk of iPhone 6 Plus orders while Pegatron is taking iPhone 6 orders. Digitimes reports that during September both manufacturers were taking a similar amount of orders, though Foxconn is now being favored.
Digitimes doesn’t have a good track record as of late, though the report does line up with the current shipping times on Apple’s site.
The company did at one point plan on delaying the iPhone 6 Plus altogether due to lack of supply. In the United States, many carriers say the iPhone 6 Plus only make up 20% of their stock.
Hopefully this report shines some light on those who are still patiently waiting for their iPhone 6 Plus. If your situation is anything like mine, this definitely brings your hopes up.
