Apps for Health

With the newly released iOS 8.0.2 update, Apple not only hopes to fix issues caused by the earlier iOS 8.0.1 update but also gives way to the new HealthKit app.  If you’ve ever used your device to keep track of your health, using HealthKit will prove to be a more advantageous deal for you!

Now that the support for HealthKit has been released, Apple has also rolled out the apps that have been developed compatible with HealthKit.  Creating a special Apps for Health section inside the App Store, the apps that have been enlisted may not be too many for now.  But they will certainly grow in just a short time.  Here are some of the apps that are currently available for users:

FitStar Personal Trainer Burn

FitStar Personal Trainer Burn iOS app will help you lose weight using a series of video fitness workout programs led by football legend Tony Gonzalez.  Think of it like having a personal trainer on your device and instructing you on what to do.  This app can be downloaded for free.

Up

Unlike FitStar, Up by Jawbone iOS app guides you to a healthier version of yourself.  The app is able to get to know you by tracking your diet, activity and sleep.  After knowing your lifestyle, it gives you a few simple adjustments that will help you become a much better person.  The app is available for free.

Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker

Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal iOs app helps you count your calories through the food you eat.  The good thing about using this app is that it has a database of over 4,000,000 different food items with their detailed calorie count.  This way, you can lose weight by watching what you eat.  The app is also available for free.

Run with Map My Run+

If you’re an active person, using Run with Map My Run+ iOS app will help you keep track of your progress, no matter what your level is as a runner.  It helps track your walk, jog and workout while providing you a GPS run feedback.  It also helps count your calorie consumption so you have everything you need in just one app.  This app can be purchased for $2.99.

Carrot Fit

Another app that provides you with a complete detail of your health and fitness journey is Carrot Fit iOS app.  It works as a 7-minute workout, step counter, and weight tracker to help you reach your ultimate goal of being fit.  Unlike other health apps, Carrot Fit does its job by giving you a humorous journey.  It will help you lose weight by threatening, ridiculing, bribing, and inspiring you until you reach your goal.  The app can be purchased for $2.99.

As of this writing, only 18 iOS 8 apps have been featured on the list.  But it won’t be a surprise to discover a number of new apps added to this list soon.  To know the other apps available, you may click here.
