We all have to wait for something or someone at different moments during our day. We might be sitting in the car waiting for the kids to come out of school, we might be waiting for a friend to meet us in a bar, or we might be sitting at home waiting for our favorite TV program to start. During those times, gaming on your phone is an ideal way to kill time, to let the minutes pass while you’re being entertained with something that’s fun, but not necessarily too challenging.
When you’re scrolling through the gaming apps section on the App store, consider choosing the following kinds of games as great choices for boredom busters.
Bingo
It’s the game that Grandma used to play, but today, you’ll find that people of all ages and both sexes enjoy games of online bingo. The game has shed its frowsty image of only appealing to old ladies and it’s become one of the most played online games and many of the sitessuch as Mirror Bingo, Wink Bingo and New Look Bingo now have a selection of their games available to play on iOS, Android and Windows phones and tablets. Playing bingo has always been cheap, and that’s not changed with the online version – games cost pennies at a time. Also, if you visit mirrorbingo.com/bingo you’ll see there are plenty of free games included on the schedule too so while you’re hanging around you could be playing for a real money prize for free.
Word games
Games that increase your vocabulary and word power can be fun! While you’ve got five minutes to spare, take your turn on an app like Words with Friends or WordFeud. These apps are all reminiscent of Scrabble, but you can take them wherever you go – unlike a traditional Scrabble board. You can invite friends to play via social media or you can play with unknown opponents that the app pairs you with. You can have several games running at once, and get notifications when it’s your turn.
Get creative
We all like to doodle while we’re waiting for something or someone, so including a doodling app on your phone is a good idea. And though most doodling on a scrapbook would just be for your own amusement, apps like Guess my drawing or Draw Something Free or Draw Mania turn doodling into a game that you can play with other people. Some of the creativity that you’ll see when playing these kinds of games is outstanding and inspires you to become a better sketcher!
Climb those levels
Of course, one of the fall-back types of gaming that’s great on a mobile is a game where you complete different levels and have a goal of moving onto the next one all the time. Where’s my water?, Jelly Splash, 7 x 7, and Bejeweled are all good examples.
The best thing about gaming apps is that there are so many of them to choose from, and there are always new ones becoming available. We’re the generation that will never have the right to say they’re bored again!
