We’ve heard multiple rumors about U2 making an appearance at tomorrow’s press event. The New York Times is reporting that they will be performing at tomorrow’s iPhone event. They even say it will include integration with Apple products that will be correlated with their next album release.
How they will integrate, or what they will reveal is still unclear. Speculation was going around last week stating the bands involvement in a private video shoot in Dublin. Music Producer Stephen Browne said it had something to do with a phone. These claims had later been denied by a spokesperson.
The New York Times has already dismissed the notion that the new album will come with the upcoming iPhone, but has stated that the new album release will be released in an “innovative way.” It’s a mystery what this means exactly, as there has been almost no rumors surrounding iTunes music as of late.
Apple has built a strong relationship with U2. Including collaborations with the iPod, to fundraising for Bono’s high profile Product Red charity. Bono also reportedly has a close relationship with Jimmy Iovine who has recently joined Apple as apart of a $3 billion dollar deal. Bono was a long-time friend of Steve Jobs, so tomorrow’s appearance just makes sense.
