With all the excitement on the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2014, a set of rumors also come along with it. And considering the much awaited event is launching in a week’s time, there are plenty of speculations about what Apple will be announcing on their keynote presentation. Among the speculations involved on Apple’s presentation include the Beats by Dre partnership, iWatch, Apple TV, and many more.
Overnight, there is a new product that many believe Apple will be introducing next week. Known as a ‘smart home’ platform, the anticipation is on how this platform will enable its user to control devices and appliances in his home using his iPhone device. According to the Financial Times, the platform ‘would turn the iPhone into a remote control for lights, security systems and other household appliances.’ This platform would feature tasks such as a remote front door lock, automatic light switch, adjust air temperature, and many more. If this platform pushes through, it could be potentially big for the company.
While Apple has been known as a company that does not respond to rumors, there is much reason to prove that this is a platform they are (at least) considering soon. Especially since they have already released their AirPlay media streaming technology and the CarPlay system, who knows just what Apple is working on next? But until Apple officializes everything, we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for this Apple Smart Home platform.
