One of the newest features in Yosemite is Handoff. However, it requires iOS 8 on the device and Yosemite on the Mac in order to work properly. What is Handoff? It’s one of Yosemites greatest features which allows users to start something such as a an iMessage on iOS 8 device and finish it on Mac. However, this requires both Yosemite and iOS 8 devices to work. Luckily, I was one of the first million to be chosen in the Apple Yosemite Beta trial. Handoff is definitely one of my favorite features released in quite some time. It makes it possible to make and receive calls right from your Mac. They both need to be on the same WiFi and the iOS 8 device should have bluetooth enabled with Yosemite running on the Mac. Thats the meat and potatoes of what it takes to make this work.
