Tomorrow’s Oct. 16 event by Apple is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Expected to announce their new line of products, there is no surprise why many are looking forward to this momentous event. And with the recent announcement that the event will be streamed live, people have an advantage of being able to watch the event through the comfort of their own home. This means they no longer have to wait until they get updates through the websites they follow.
With tomorrow’s big event just a few hours away, there is some bit of disappointment over the new update that a 2015 Macworld/iWorld conference will not be taking place. Especially for those who have already gotten excited over this event, you will be disappointed to know that the conference will be going on hiatus. This means that a 2015 show will not be taking place. In the past years, the event typically occurred during January-February. But with the conference not pushing through on March 2015, Macworld may have disappointed some of its loyal users.
News of the hiatus made the rounds online as early as Tuesday, along with IDG World Expo’s release of a statement about the cancellation of the planned event. According to the release, IDG World Expo formally made the news:
We are announcing today that Macworld/iWorld is going on hiatus, and will not be taking place as planned in 2015. Our MacIT event, the world’s premiere event for deploying Apple in the enterprise, will continue next year with details to be announced in the coming weeks.
One of the biggest reasons as to why this is such a big event is because Apple has made it a tradition to host the yearly event so they could introduce their new products to the public. Ever since the first Macworld/iWorld conference, breakthrough products such as the first iPhone, MacBook Air and some software releases were introduced by the company’s late CEO Steve Jobs.
We guess people really saw this coming– especially after Apple ended its affiliation with the conference back in 2009. In fact, the conference over the past few years have been much less exciting.
IDG World Expo, however, insists that this is just a ‘hiatus’. But until an announcement has been made, Apple fans will have to make do with the MacIT event planned for next year.
