Apple has been increasingly working hard to add more channels to its Apple TV in the past few months and now, the company announced that it has added three more additional channels to its Apple TV namely, History Channel, Lifetime and A&E.
For users to gain full access to the contents of these TV channels, they will have to subscribe to DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, and Cablevision Optimum services although free previews are already being offered. Subscribed Apple TV users will gain full advantage of this and will get to watch popular titles such as Project Runway, Duck Dynasty, and Storage Wars.
The move is made in response to a greater competition faced by Apple from its rivals such as the Google Chromecast which allows users to stream media content to their TV. A&E Networks has also been trying to gain a wider audience base by expanding its availability to the iOS platform as well where users can watch live content right from their iPhone and iPad.
