During the WWDC, Apple introduced the second iOS 8 beta release. Along with this introduction, the company also issued the first beta version of the upcoming Apple TV software update. The highlight of the update was the fact that Apple concentrated on Family Sharing, enabling up to six family members to be able to access one another’s purchased content using any registered device operating on iOS 8 or OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
By introducing this new update to Apple TV, users will be able to view video and music on their TV screens via AirPlay and without having to connect to the streaming box. With this initial version, Apple will be providing limited support to third-generation Apple TVs; especially with second generation variants left out of this public release.
Sadly however, there were a few issues with the beta Apple TV software. As seen on release notes, there were a few complaints about intermittent stuttering or complete playback stoppage. There were even some instances wherein Apple TV crashed completely and returned to the main menu after a music video was purchased.
On the plus side, it is good to know that Apple is still working on these things; to ensure Apple TV iCloud Family Sharing will be a feature that users will enjoy completely.
