Previously, we heard rumors that Apple will release two variants of the iPhone 6, one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch display, which will be released in September this year. To add more to the rumor, the Japanese newspaper, Nikkei, reported that Apple hardware suppliers in China have already begun manufacturing the sensors and displays have already begun for the upcoming iPhone. These components include “fingerprint sensors and chips for liquid-crystal drivers.”
The same source also says that the production of liquid crystal display panels will start in April/June at “Sharp’s Kameyama factory, Japan Display’s Mobara plant” as well as LG. In addition, the next flagship will feature a higher display resolution than the current models.
In addition to a larger display, previous rumors hint at a new sapphire display and a 10 megapixel f/1.8 camera sensor with interchangeable lenses.
