It’s pretty odd. The iPhone 6 Plus has enough space in the dock to dock more than four icons. So why doesn’t it? Probably because of how it would look like in landscape. Unlike the iPad, the iPhone 6 Plus’s dock stays on the left/right side when rotated in landscape.
Now, with the help of a jailbreak tweak, betterFiveIconDock, you’ll be able to have five icons in the dock. Unlike most other tweaks of the nature, betterFiveIconDock spaces the icons correctly in the dock for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Specifically for the 6 Plus in landscape, the docked icons will rotate and place themselves correctly.
I haven’t tested it on older devices, but on the iPhone 6 Plus (with native landscape support), this tweak works perfectly.
You can find betterFiveIconDock on the developer’s beta repo (http://repo.rpdev.info). There’s no option to configure, and requires iOS 8.
