Just a few days before the premiere of the movie Big Hero and everyone’s getting hooked to its film tie-in game version called Big Hero 6 Bot Fight. If you’ve grown tired of the usual endless runner film tie-in games, you’ll be pleased to know that Big Hero 6 Bot Fight iOS app is nowhere near this category. And it comes in perfect timing as these types of games can be quite repetitive and unimpressive, especially since everything else has been built using the same format.
But even though Big Hero 6 Bot Fight seems to be a fighting game, it does not any fighting in the action sense. Instead, it offers a match 3 puzzle game experience for those who download the game. Still, it is better than the usual endless runner type games.
Once you launch Big Hero 6 Bot Fight iOS game, it picks up on the premise that the movie has ended already. But you won’t have to worry about any spoilers. You’ll have to play the role of Hiro Hamada who has to save San Fransokyo against the hordes of bots trying to takeover the city. In order to do this, you’ll have to match power cells on a grid. As soon as the colors have been connected, you get to trigger attacks to your opponent. Longer combos that you make result to bigger attacks.
Additionally, you get to collect bots and level them up. And once you’ve collected enough for rare parts, you can evolve them into a mean and powerful machine. Plus, you have a choice to pick a team from the bots that you have collected so you can have a more powerful team of bots to fight.

The game is really as simple as that. While there is some fighting involved, it’s quite a shame that the fighting depends on the match-3 combos that you’ve made. The game does feature the much loved characters of the movie, such as Baymax and the rest of the crew. Perhaps this is one for the little kids to enjoy more? Considering that the movie version of the game promises to be humorous and annoyingly cute, there’s no reason why its tie-in game should be any violent.
You can download Big Hero 6 Bot Fight for free from the App Store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running on iOS 7.0 or later.
