CopyTrans

Nowadays,as most of you have seen and experience it, most of our songs, images, videos, and other files are been synchronized on our devices so we can listen and watch them on the move. Many people consider such synchronization to the devices as an external back up of media files in case the hard drive has crashed or require re-installing. In of these cases, you will loose all you media files and turn toward these devices to restore your media files.

However as most of you are familiar with the iDevice, reverse synchronization of iPod and iPhone to iTunes (let it be on PC or MAC) is impossible as these devices are synchronized to one iTunes and PC/MAC. Considering iTunes, it does an amazing job in managing and organizing your media files and datas on iPod and iPhone but what it lacks is that it is limited to one device at a time. This is where CopyTrans comes into picture.

CopyTrans is not a stand alone software rather it is more of a suite. It consists of multiple software like CopyTrans Manager, CopyTrans Photos, CopyTrans Contacts, etc. Each of these software offers different functionality and capability and you are able to purchase any of these software which you see it best fit your needs. The standalone CopyTrans is responsible for transferring videos, songs, movies and other media files from your iPhone, iPod, and iPad to your PC and iTunes.

CopyTrans offers more than just transferring the media files. It also check for those musics, videos or movies that are missing on your iTunes library and transfer those. In this case it makes sure that duplicate files are avoided at all cost. It has a “Smart Backup” which checks your iTunes library and transfer those media files that are missing. This works best when you have shifted to a new PC or you just lost all your media files. The second option of CopyTrans is “Manual Backup”. This second option gives you more control over your media library in which you can select which file/folder needs to be transferred to your PC.

CopyTrans Main Page

As it has already been said, CopyTrans is limited to media files only. CopyTrans Contacts deals with transferring and backing up all your contacts, CopyTrans Manager is an alternate to iTunes where you can create, organize and manage the synchronization between your PC and iDevcices, CopyTrans Photo deals with transferring your photos and images between your PC and iDevices, CopyTrans Apps gives you more control over your application and application data. To download these software, you can do install them from here.

A rival to CopyTrans is Mobiledit, a $25 application where it allows you to transfer all the contents of your mobile device to iTunes whereas CopyTrans is limited to to audis, images and videos. It is expensive to purchase all the standalone softwares mentioned above to transfer all the content to your iTunes library and PC. On other hand, CopyTrans is not a comprehensive method for synchronizing media files between your PC and iDevice.

However, keeping the disadvantages aside people mostly worry about their media files then other contents. You can save all your contacts on your Sim Card rather than transferring it to PC which his complicated and time consuming. You can save all your files on external hard drive, USB or iCloud. What is left are the media files which can be saved on iCloud or are available on your iDevices. CopyTrans acts like a sidekick to iTunes and very handy when you want to transfer your media files to an new PC or iTunes.

The standalone CopyTrans cost you $20. However there is an offer where you can purchase CopyTrans, CopyTrans Contacts, CopyTrans Photo and CopyTrans TuneSwift for $29.96 instead of $69.96 (60% discount). You can view the price list from here.
