iphone tips improve performance speed

Apple devices are well known for their performance, fluidity and overall speed.  This makes using iOS devices one of the best things about them.  However, iOS devices are just like computers and can get bogged down by all the clutter and junk files the collect.  Some of these files include browser cache, old text messages, and other items which may reduce the speed of your device drastically over time.  We are going to share five different things users can do to improve devices speed and keep the iOS device performing just as it should.  Please share this post socially if you find it useful.

Five iPhone Tips For Improving Speed Performance

  1.  Remove Old Text Everyone with iOS devices uses the texting features they have to offer such as iMessage and SMS messages.  Apple devices store messaging in the cloud.  However, heavy text users will need to free up some space by deleting old text conversations.  In order to delete old text conversions simply open a conversation, then tap on a sent message until you see “more” pop up on the screen.  Once you see “more” you can choose the conversations you don’t need.  If you have a lot of old chats you can remove them by swiping left and tapping delete.  Users may also tap the edit button and then tap the “minus” sign beside the conversation you wish to remove.  This will help reduce the amount of content the iOS device must keep track of and store.
  2. Turn off Location Services  Many apps use location services to determine where you are when its not needed for the applications performance.  This is nothing more than an added feature by the developer for their knowledge.  They like to keep demographics of the apps and this is how they do it.  It not only slows down tyne devices performance but drains battery power also.  So by turning off location services you will see an improvement in battery power.  How do you turn location services off?  Go to Settings > Privacy > Location services  From here you can choose the apps you allow tracking your location.  Turn off location services for all apps which don’t need it for performance.
  3. Remove Unused Apps  Check you usage by going to Settings > General > Scroll down to usage  Here you will have a list off apps populate.  Tap all apps to see the entire list of applications which you have installed. Once the list has populated choose the applications you may not use anymore.  This will not only improve the devices speed but add storage space to the device.
  4. Clear Browser Cache  iOS devices store cache much like a computer.  So it’s important to clear the cache and history from time to time.  Clearing the cache, history, and cookies can help improve speed greatly.  So this should be something users do on a regular basis.  How to clear iOS browser cache.  Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History/Clear Cookies and Data  Users may take it a step further to remove website data to help by going to setting > Safari > Advanced > Website Data  Here you will find data stored on a URL basis.  So if there’s a site you don’t frequent often I recommend removing the data by tapping the edit button in the left corner and tap the “minus sign” beside each URL containing unwanted data.
  5. Turn Off Auto App Updates  Although updates are needed from time to time I prefer to do this manually.  Not only will this improve performance and speed but improbe battery life in the process.  Users also run the risk of losing needed information by allowing auto app updates.  Turn off Auto App Updates by Settings > iTunes & App Store  From here you can find Updates under Automatic Downloads.  Simply slide the toggle t o the off position to disable auto app updates.

Here is five easy tips for improving device performance and speeds.  Users will see a huge difference in performance after implementing these tips.  The older devices will be the most helped devices due to smaller processors.  We hope you find the tips helpful and it does improve your devices overall speed.  Be sure to not miss our iPhone Tips & Tricks You Didn’t Know Your iPhone Could Do.  Check back each day for more tips and tricks along with the top app reviews and Cydia Tweaks.  Please share this post socially by tapping the share buttons on the left side of the page here.
