iOS 8 iMessage not working properly- How to Fix These issues

Issue #1: iMessage Group Message Doesn’t Work

Problem: iMessage will not allow you to send group messages but has no problem sending to each person ome at a time.

Fix: Delete the entire old group conversation and begin a new one with sane people in the group and it will begin akllowing you to use group iMessage again with no issues.

Issue #2 iOS 8 iMessage will not receive messages from a member of the group not using iMessage / iPhone

Problem: You have a couple friends in the group message which aren’t iPhone or iMessage users, they aren’t receiving your messages within the group and you aren’t receiving any messages from them.

Fix: Open Settings > Messages > make certain group message is toggled on

Issue #3 iMessage won’t use phone number to send messages. The phone number option is grayed out on the device.

Problem: Since updating to iOS 8 you aren’t able to send messages using just a phone number. Your phone number is grayed out and can’t be selected. As a result all iMessages are being sent as email or iCloud ID alone.

Fix: Turn off both Facetime and iMessage inside Settings.   Once you have turned them both off go into settings app scrioll down to reset and choose “Reset Your Network Settings”. Once all has been Reset make sure you are connected to wifi and reactivate iMessage and Facetime. This will allow you to select your phone number as an iMessage sending option now.

Issue 4: iMessage search and Spotlight message serach not working in iOS 8

Fix: Not yet available

Issue 5: Since updating to iOS 8 you are unable to send sms messages at all

Fix: Not yet available
