In February, ih8sn0w updated his standalone p0sixspwn untethered package so that those who jailbroke their devices tethered with redsn0w could make their jailbreak untethered.
However, the hacker has now released the latest update (v. 1.0.8) of his tool for Mac and Windows that adds support for iOS 6.1.6 jailbreak without requiring users to tether jailbreak their device with redsn0w first. The update also fixes an issue where iTunes 11.1 and later started crashing.
iOS 6.1.6 was released by Apple along with iOS 7.0.6 for iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touch 4G in order to fix the SSL bug. With the updated tool, users can easily jailbreak their devices without going through a lengthy and time consuming method.
p0sixspwn supports the following devices on iOS 6.1.3 – iOS 6.1.6:
- iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5
- iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 5G
