On Monday, January 16, 2012 Nissan announced the release of their scratch Shield case for the iPhone for and iphone 4. The case is made of an ABS plastic that is designed to self heal. The paint used for making the iPhone case is supposed to “self heal”. Nissan claims the paint is the world’s first technology its kind. The paint is the same kind found on several Nissan and Infiniti luxury cars. However, based on what Nissan claims, when the iPhone case is scratched the chemical structure of the paint will create a reaction which will then start a healing process to fix the damage or blemish.

The scratch Shield case is currently in beta stages in Europe. When Nissan is finished with the testing process and are satisfied with the results of the tests. Maybe then we can expect to see the release of the scratch Shield case in the United States. This is a pretty amazing kind of technology. Not only could this change the way gadget device are made it will open doors for many more creations. It would be awesome to have an automobile that would never have a scratch. If you drove by a location where a tree limb scratched the side of our car we wouldn’t have to worry about scratches. The paint would self heal the scratch through a chemical change. If we could create a type of Band-Aid or skin regeneration that would definitely change society drastically. I’ll keep my eye on this Nissan case and I’ll be looking forward to purchasing it when it releases in the US. Feel free to leave any comments below.
Thank you,
