How to Remove Cydia/UnJailbreak iOS 10 – 10.2 | Restore iOS 10.2 without Updating

Developer CoolStar has created a way to Semirestore your iOS devices without updating the firmware.  This is for the most part safe based on the details I have seen online.  If you want to read more about the safety and exactly how this works check out Reddit thread w/ more info: http://bit.ly/2nw3XzW.  However, anytime you do anything such as this you run the risk of losing the jailbreak and having to update,  So I only recommend doing this only if your device has become super lagging or you are selling it and such.

Warning:  Please note the restore happens by installing these items.  So after tapping install, you are actually performing the restore.

Prerequisites:

Install two repos: Coolstar’s repo: coolstar.org/publicrepo

JailbreakHub’s repo: repo.jailbreakhub.org

Remove Stashing from other sources

Remove App Admin

Semi-Restore works through stashing method which allows this method to move tweaks to the location var/db/stash. Any tweaks previously installed are moved to this location and then removed in one fell swoop.  This is exactly the same way stashing workings to create more space on your device.  Any users who are familiar with stashing will better understand how ORestore works.  Restore will then remove all the files except the ones needed to perform in var/mobile/library.  It will now start to rebuild the directory.

It then removes the YaluX file in the root directory making it possible to Jailbreak again later using the  Yalu102 without any future issues or errors.  Although, after completing the process and starting over you may get a brief dpkg error when installing Yalu again but this is completely normal and can be corrected by just dismissing it and ignoring it.

All this seems pretty technical I know and it is.  However, the steps you need to perform are really simple and laid out in easy to follow steps.  We have tried to explain exactly what is being done to your device from a developer/code point of view.

After all of the items above have ben installed and files removed and directories rebuilt, the device will use what’s called dropbear and daemons to prevent other things from happening such as false load ups for Yalu and more things I don’t really understand.

The last part of the process oRestore will remove popular jailbreak apps such as Activator, Anemone, CocoaTop, and others it knows to look for.  It then removed the files Cydia.log and flush.log plus remove any themes you may have on the device.

  1. Install Stashing iOS 9.2-10.2
  2. Install ORestoreX from Jailbreak Hub _Once you Tapp install here it starts the restore process and data will be removed.  Seeing Red or Yellow text is completely normal.
  3.   Open Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings Erase iPhone
  4.   iPhone or iOS device will restart and start removing data and reinstalling need items just let it be.  You may see a blue screen this completely normal.

Does this restore erases all Apple apps? Does it leaves it as a brand new iPhone?
