Turn off Airdrop. Swipe up from the bottom on the home page to open control center (CC) and you will see Airdrop in the list. Tap on Airdrop and you get yet another selection which ask off, contacts only, everyone, or cancel. Now is when you need to choose off. This keeps your iPhone from searching for others continuously.

Limit which apps update in background. To change the settings tap Settings > General > Background App Refresh then deselect the apps that you do not want to update or refresh in background. For example, an app such as Google Maps would need to run in background if you were using it to get directions. However, if you aren’t using app to get directions there’s no need to have it running. This can save a substantial amount of battery power.

Disable Auto App Updates. Auto app updates can be convenient but at a cost from the battery power. Users can also save money on their data plan by only updating apps on wi-fi by deselecting Use Cellular Data at this time.
Devices running on iOS 7 records where you go throughout the day. It uses this information to predict your time of arrivals at certain locations you may visit often. Turning this option off can be a bitt tricky navigate to Settings > Privacy >Location Services > System Services then switch off the Frequent Frequent Locations option. From here you can delete any data which may have already been collected by tapping Clear History at the bottom of the screen.

Turn off Parallex Motion Option. If you tilt your device from side to side looking at the screen you may notice the icons appear to move and look 3 dimensional. Although this appear to look cool it drains the battery power very fast. To disable this head to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.

Prevent Spotlight Search from indexing unnecessary files. The iPhone needs to index the devices entire file system in order to serve the best results at the time of a spotlight search. Users can choose which files are indexed by going to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and uncheck any items you may not need to be indexed.

Turn off auto-brightness and adjust it manually. You may need to adjust the brightness from time to time if you are in the sun and such. Users can disable auto-brightness by going to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, then reduce the brightness to 10-25 percent, or whatever feels most comfortable.

Don’t use Dynamic Wallpapers. iOS 7 comes with seven different dynamic wallpapers with floating bubbles around the screen. Choose a static wallpaper by going to Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose wallpaper > Stills or choose a photograph from your camera roll on this same page.

Disable location related system services Location services use GPS for location app services such as Google Maps. Although this can be very useful and helpful its a huge battery drain. Many applications enable this service for the sole purpose of running related ads when you open them. In order to disable this service you will have to Go to Settings >Privacy > Location Services When this service is on, scroll down to uncheck all of these items. When you’re not using Location Services such as GPS, just turn it off. This ca’t be done by toggling a switch in Control Center or something that easy. It has to be done manually one at a time.

Change Email from ‘push’ to ‘fetch’ Push email is very useful when you are needing to read email the second its received or sent to you. Push sends the emails to you the instant they arrive. But if you raen’t expecting an important email you can save battery by using a fetch schedule instead of push. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar, then scroll down to Fetch New Data. From this location, disable the Push option. Now scroll down to set the fetch schedule every fifteen minutes. This will send and receive emails every fifteen minutes. If you need different settings for different email accounts select Advanced and confirm the settings for each account.

Bonus: Keep Bluetooth turned off when not in use. In the Control Center (CC) tap the bluetooth button to turn it off. This will help battery power considerably.
