track iPhone using Find My iPhone service

Track iPhone using Find My iPhone service

One of the best ways of retrieving a lost or stolen iPhone is through the “Find My iPhone” service.  Many users think this is only an application and if they didn’t install it or it wasn’t installed at time of loss they can’t use it.  That is definitely wrong.  Although, its a great plus if the Find My App is on the device and been set up properly theres still a chance you can track down your iOS device.  Find My iPhone is a cloud based service which users can use to find their devices without the help of the Find My AiPhone App.  You can enable Find My iPhone even if you never installed the app.  If you have been using iCloud on your device, chances are Find My iPhone was enabled.  If that is the case you are in luck my friend.

Find My iPhone Service in iCloud to locate lost or stolen iOS device

  1.  Open iCloud.com
  2.  Click on Find My iPhone icon
  3.   Track your iOS device on the map using GPS
  4.   Users may also click on the iOS device they wish to find and have it play sound, lost mode, erase iPhone.  If you choose “Lost Mode” users can assign a passcode which will lock the device to keep others from seeing your sensitive material on the iPhone.

I recommend trading phones with a friend and tracking each others device just for fun.  This can help prepare you for whenever you may need to track your iOS device for real.  Not only can you find your devices if they are stolen but if you lose them in the house it can help too.  Users can choose to have their device emit a sound.  Once you unlock the device it will stop emitting the sound.
