There’s very few tweak on Cydia that offer to port various aspects or features of Windows 8 to iOS devices. However, today, we’re gonna show you a new tweak that does this job.
This is Volume8, a new tweak recently released in Cydia that offers to transform your iOS device’s volume HUD to that of Windows 8. Once installed, there’s no configuration that is required. All you gotta do is to raise or lower your volume to notice the new volume HUD. It now looks similar to that found in Windows 8 as show in the screenshot above.
That said, the tweak not only customizes your volume HUD but also displays the music controls as well. Once you have a music playing, hitting the volume buttons will display various music controls beside the HUD including play/pause, fast forward or backward, album art as well as the singer and the song name.
You might be thinking why would anyone want to raise or lower the volume just to control the music. This is the only drawback of the tweak as it’s more convenient to control the music from the control center than to press the volume buttons to achieve the same function.
Yet, the tweak brings an interesting change to your volume HUD that looks similar to Windows 8 and if you’re interested in volume8 cydia tweak, you can grab it for free from Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
