As more innovations for integrating iPhone devices take place, the car stereo manufacturer paves way for something exciting. Especially for car owners, the availability of the new 7-inch iLX-007 is the first in-dash receiver that comes with CarPlay support from Alpine. By offering support for Apple’s CarPlay feature, Alpine is introducing the first among their aftermarket receivers capable of the display. If you are in the market for a new car stereo, the iLX-007 may just be your next purchase!
Equipped with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen, Alpine’s iLX-007 in-dash receiver has a low price of just $800. While there are already cars equipped with Apple’s CarPlay feature, Alpine makes it possible for existing car owners to enjoy the feature too. All it takes is just to purchase the in-dash receiver instead of getting a new car.
Pioneer also offers the same product but has a much higher price of $1,800. If you’re strapped for cash, getting Alpine’s product will be a better option. Complete with a dedicated display for using iPhone and CarPlay, the device has a button that easily pulls up Siri. So when you find yourself stuck somewhere, you can simply press the button on the device and ask Siri for directions.
Apart from making CarPlay available on the in-dash receiver, the Alpine iLX-007 also offers other features that drivers may enjoy. You have an option to use your CD/DVD drive or microSD card slot for inputting media through your receiver. By including CarPlay, however, these hardware features may no longer be needed.
Compared to older in-dash receivers, the Alpine iLX-007 comes with a minimalistic look with a better display quality. Other features include:
- Audio/video receiver with 7-inch capacitive touch screen
- Apple CarPlay feature
- 7-inch WVGA touch screen
- Siri voice-activated controls
- One AUX input
- Three 2V pre-outs
- Alpine MediaXpander technology
- Rear view camera system input
- Audio, phone calls and driving directions played through vehicle speakers
- Lightning connector
- Alpine TuneIt app compatibility
- Compatible with iPhone 5 or later devices running on the latest iOS version
