One of the most promising tweaks out there in Cydia right now goes by the name Appellancy. What it does is it unlocks your iPhone/iPod with face detection, something Androids had a long time ago along with touch I.D. To me, face detection is fairly new because I have not had the chance to play around with anything that has this security measure. You may be wondering right now if Appellancyfails sometimes, yes in fact, it fails sometimes just like other tweaks do, but if you try it, you will not be disappointed at all.
What Appellancy does is take pictures of different angles of your face in different lighting conditions. Once you do that, it will save them in the database for maximum security. What is also really neat about this security tweak is that you can add different folders to add whoever you want to enter your iDevice easily. There are also easy to configure options within the settings app, for example, disable for notification alert, disable when notification, only start on swipe, do not start when music, always start on swipe, show deny entry, show lock screen image view, start guest mode on rejection, and do not change ‘enter passcode’. Once you have chosen or disabled some of this options, a respring is needed. I forgot to mention that after you take the pictures, respring so it can take effect.
Having the security and piece of mind that you want and need is not complicated nor expensive. For just $1.99, all of your worries about your iDevice being hacked into or stolen will be gone for good. Yes, this Appellancy has its downfalls but, it has more to it that you think.
