Though it doesn’t feel like it, Apple turned 40 just recently. To be specific, they celebrated their anniversary on April 1st. And along with their 40th year celebration, they are offering a special playlist to commemorate the occasion with its Apple Music streaming service. The playlist, entitled Apple 40, includes a total of 40 songs that they contribute to helping their Apple ads “celebrate 40 years of ideas, innovation and culture.”
Among the songs included in the Apple 40 special playlist include hits by Coldplay, Gorillaz, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and many more. As an Apple Music subscriber, you may listen to these songs or even add the entire playlist to your library.
Apple also gave a special performance to its employees at the Cupertino campus with a performance by Beats 1 presenter Zane Lowe. They also raised a “jolly roger” pirate flag complete with a big skull and white crossbones above the 1 Infinite Loop. This is a familiar piece from their folklore they used to commemorate the special occasion.
Finally, Apple released a video highlighting its best innovations throughout its 40 years of existence. The video is titled “40 Years in 40 Seconds.”
