It has become a tradition for Apple on the day of special events to take down the Apple Online Store. Ahead of the launch of various new products such as the two iPhone 6 models, iWatch, and much more.
It’s a mystery as to why Apple does it, but we assume they do it to add to the momentum of the site. It’s unlikely that it’s because of a technical issue as most sites have a ‘publish’ button to add new content. We wouldn’t be surprised if its because all of Apple’s top executives are attending event, leaving the store vulnerable.
Nonetheless, it happened, and we suspect the site to come back online after the event showcasing the iPhone 6 and iWatch.
Also, don’t forget to tune into iPhone Captain later today as we will be covering the event throughout the day. Apple will also be live-streaming the event at 10AM PST today on various devices.
