CallLaucher is very useful tweak especially for those who make frequent calls to the same contact. What it does is that it adds a contact icon to any app icon. This is how it looks when you tap on mail icon for instance:

CallLaucher is configured in a way in which you can choose an app icon(s) and when you tap on them you get the choice of launching that specific app or to call the contact you have assigned to the app icon. When you have assigned a contact to app icon, when tapped on it a menu shows up displaying two icons. One representing the contact you have assigned and want to call. The other icon represents launching that particular application in the above picture tapping on mail icon launches the mail application.
Setting and activating the tweak is straight forward. To add or assign a contact, you first need to enter into editing mode. This can be done by tapping and holding on the screen for few seconds after which it enter the “jiggle jiggle” mode. Double tap on any app icon and you get an editing interface.
In the editing interface, you get a button for assigning a contact and a cancel button to exit the editing mode. When you tap on add a new contact button, a list of contacts are fetched from the contact list and you can choose one contact you want to assign to the app icon. When you select one it will be added to the interface. If the contact selected has a picture, it will display the picture in the interface and if it doesn’t have a picture then the contact initials of the first and last name are displayed.
A preference pane is added to the settings menu where you can configure few contents and concept of this tweak. These include:
- Enable QuickCall, skips the interface and directly calls the contact assigned to the app icon
- Hide the labels in the CallLauncher interface
- Hide the contact pictures in the interface
- Un-mask the application icon(s) in the interface
- Un-mask the contact icon(s) in the interface
- Enable a clear wallpaper in the interface
CallLauncher is a useful tool that allows you to have a quick access to your contacts and quickly place a call. However this tweak is available at a price of $1.99 which quiet a lot for such simple tweak. But at the other hand it makes easy and quick to place a call rather than navigating through your contact list and finding the contact. If you want to try it, head over cydia and install it. For now it only supports iOS 7 on iPhone and iPod touch. iPad is yet to be added to the compatibility list.
