So how does this app work?
Dark Sky iOS app is a basic weather app available for mobile devices. It makes use of your default current location to track the weather. But you can still check the weather throughout the United States. As basic as it can get, the app takes away all the guesswork and complex modeling typically involved with forecasting so it can just give you the most basic information you need—is it raining right now? Or will it rain soon?
Dark Sky iOS app’s home screen is separated into three main portions. The first is a graph that depicts the storm intensity over the next 60 minutes. If there’s no bad weather in your area, the app simply says: “Clear skies are boring. Tap here to view a storm in [another area].”
The middle portion of the app shows the current weather condition as well as what you can expect in the next hour. It displays this information in big letters. When you flip up this panel, you’ll see the full forecast for that day.
Lastly, the bottom area is where your current location is displayed. You may also manually enter a different area.
When you tap on the Radar button on the top, you’ll be directed to a radar map with a smooth animation of the weather. You can either scroll forward or backward so you can have an idea on the weather condition headed your way.
