Fix “unable to install update”Error iOS 8.1

Apple has just released iOS 8.1 live to the public.  Many of our readers have received an error, “unable to install update”, while there are a number of reasons this can be occurring the two most obvious users should check are:

1.  Amount of storage available -be sure you have enough storage available to make the update

2.  Battery power could be below certain %. If I’m not mistaken Apple requires a set amount of battery power in order to update firmware.  Try plugging the lightening cable into the device and let it charge while you are trying to update.

Although, these are just a couple of the most obvious there are many other reasons.  Just as a suggestion here at iPhonecaptain we only update through iTunes after restoring to a clean firmware.  This tends to give the best and most stable way of updating.  If you would like to update through iTunes just follow our tutorial here.  It’s not difficult at all.
