Linkin Park has returned—not to the music scene but to the iOS app industry. After games such as ‘Linkin Park GT’, ‘8-Bit Rebellion’ and ‘LP’s Tap Tap Revenge,’ the band is back with a fourth game entitled Linkin Park Recharge – Wastelands iOS app. While the game was first launched as a Facebook Beta Game, it has finally made the move to iOS with its new version.
If you’ve never played Linkin Park Recharge iOS app before, you’ll be pleased with the amount of dedication the game’s developers have produced in its graphics. This fast-paced 3D action game is set in a post-apocalyptic world—an after Earth now ruled by hostile synthetic creatures laden in metal and flesh. Your job is to make sure that these monstrosities don’t deplete what’s left of the Earth’s valuable resources and energy.
Once you launch the game, you’ll be made to choose whether you would like to play as a male or female character of the Resistance. Later on, you can customize your character’s clothing and accessories to over 100 items available in the game. But as far as your character’s face, you can only change it to resemble one of the band members.
After you have picked your character and customized his clothing, you start playing the game. With over 50 missions, your job is to locate all the humans that the Hybrids have captured and enslaved. Additionally, you need to shut down the energy plants and kill these monsters by draining them of their energy. To do this, you will have to use one of your abilities: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. As you collect more energy, you also get more points and ‘stars’. You can later use these stars to unlock items and levels.
You also get to collect ‘Replications’, which help you stock up on your inventory. You can use this to sell or equip your accessories. The more Replications you find, the more you’ll be able to sell them for crystals that you can then use to purchase items. Or you can go the easy route and buy crystals through the in-app purchase.
As for controls, you simply need to tap on your screen to move around. If you want to speed run, just swipe on the device. And if you wish to fire on one of the Hybrids, you just tap on your screen. You can use and switch among your abilities by tapping on the element icons located on the bottom part of the screen. You can use these on your enemies by double tapping them.
Since the game is offline, you won’t need to have an active internet connection in order to play. This makes the game a lot enjoyable to play without worrying about running out of battery. All in all, the game is pretty decent and comes with good graphics. If you’re bored or a loyal Linkin Park fan, downloading the game would be highly recommended.
