
On Thursday, Microsoft noted that Office for iPad will go free. This includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Furthermore, the long awaited iPhone version of Office is now available for download, free.
The company has also revamped its entire iOS suite with Dropbox syncing support, and a ton of new features that “ensure a consistently beautiful and productive Office experience on every device”.
In addition to iOS apps, the company will be releasing the suite to Android tablets as part of Microsoft’s Office for Android tablets program. Windows 10, touch-optimized versions of the app will be coming soon and “we’ll have more to share soon”.
Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are now universal applications available on the App Store.
Editing options on the apps will no longer require Office 365 subscriptions.
Subscribing to the service will add additional features such as advanced editing, collaboration capabilities, unlimited OneDrive storage, Dropbox integration and more.
